The last time the New England Patriots fought their way to the Superbowl, Monday morning brought lots of long faces, but not this year! Superbowl Sunday brought lots of excitement (and, of course, delicious food!) and amazement at the Patriots’ incredible comeback, and Kennebunkport ME was no exception! But no discussion of the Superbowl would be complete without a discussion about where everyone tuned in for the big game.
No matter which teams are playing, Federal Jack’s BrewPub is sure to gather a big crowd to watch the game, tuck into some wings and a great beer. Fed’s definitely takes the cake in town for the number of televisions and largest bar, and since they are home to Shipyard Ale, there is no question that they offer great beer.
That said, Alisson’s Restaurant is the closest spot to our Kennebunkport boutique hotel. After loading up on tasty menu items like chicken tenders, wings, and potato skins, and a celebratory drink or two, both Fed’s and Alisson’s are within easy walking distance (even in the winter!). Many folks had given up by half-time, and after a stroll back to the Maine Stay Inn, they were surprised to find that a comeback was underway!
But if you’re looking for a cozier spot to catch the game, there are other great Kennebunkport ME restaurants to watch and nosh! Both Pedro’s and The Ramp have great bars for watching sports on television (albeit on smaller screens) with awesome menu options. I mean, what could be better than enjoying a handcrafted margarita while watching the Patriots (or insert your favorite local team here)? But despite the variety of viewing options in town, most of our guests chose to lie low, watching the game in the comfort and privacy of their own room or suite, where they cracked open a few beers after dinner out (or even dinner they brought in). So next year, when the Pats find themselves gunning for glory in their sixth Superbowl debut, you can catch the game while enjoying a getaway to Kennebunkport Maine and our Kennebunkport hotel!
