Renovations and Updates

Our Kennebunkport Bed and Breakfast’s New Look!

We were pleased to welcome back photographer Christian Giannelli to our Kennebunkport Bed and Breakfastto check out our newest renovations.  It’s been like torture to wait and show all of our friends and visitors the changes we worked so hard on this spring and summer.  But the wait has finally ended!  So while we haven’t quite gotten the chance to update the pictures on our website, we’re proud to show you the fruits of our labor. So here’s the story:  This spring,… Read More

Summertime Improvements at a Maine Bed and Breakfast

At your average Maine Bed and Breakfast, summertime doesn’t bring much in terms of changes – trimming bushes, touching up paint, or fixing those problems that just crop up now and then – but the Maine Stay Inn is no average B&B!  We’re working on projects daily and, of course, keeping on top of those daily issues (think a rattling air conditioner or a loose toilet seat).  This summer we’ve debuted some great new lawn and porch furniture, with more to arrive shortly… Read More

Maine Bed and Breakfast Gets a Facelift

It’s not too often that you walk into a Maine Bed and Breakfast and see a “please excuse our appearance – we’re under construction (to improve your experience, of course!)” sign in the entryway, but at the Maine Stay, there have been a few times in the past few years.  Frankly, with all of the massive changes and improvements, that experience could certainly have happened much more often.  Fortunately, most of our changes have gone according to plan, and unlike typical home renovations,… Read More

Updates at Our Kennebunkport Bed and Breakfast

The winter months are a time period when we devote lots of time and energy to updating our Kennebunkport Bed and Breakfastand this year has been no exception.  Of course, we do lots of little things, like fixing the chipped paint in each and every guest room (the vacuums do such a number on our baseboards!), fixing any loosening wallpaper seams, replacing welcome mats that have seen better days.  We move furniture and reorganize until the cows come home.  To make sure… Read More

Springtime in Kennebunkport Maine Is Inn Photography Time!

Although light snow is in tomorrow’s forecast for Kennebunkport Maine, Spring is definitely on its way, bringing with it Melissa and Christian Giannelli, specialists in Inn Photography. We always look forward to Christian and Melissa’s next visit to our Kennebunkport Bed and Breakfast, because over the past few years they have become great friends.  And, after months of hard work, their visits generally mean we’ve finished some big projects.  In fact, we’ve been so busy renovating across the property that this will… Read More

Romantic Renovations

We at the Maine Stay Inn have been hard at work this winter – stripping wallpaper, painting, you name it – all in an effort to make sure your Maine vacation is absolutely perfect.  Recently we turned our attention to the ever-popular Romantic Cottage Suite 7.  It still features the oversized whirlpool tub and glowing gas fireplace you know and love, but with all new decor. Now it boasts dreamy designer wallpaper, more luxurious linens, an iPod dock, and the largest flat-panel… Read More

A Complete Transformation

Romantic Cottage Suite #4 at the Maine Stay Inn got a major facelift in August, when it received a brand new king size bed.  High enough to often require a step to get in, and made of dark wood, this four poster bed added major drama to an uninspired room (did I really just say that?!).  Quickly this cottage suite in our Kennebunkport bed and breakfast inn became one of the most popular at the Maine Stay.  But soon we all had… Read More

Our Latest Makeover

After much hemming and hawing, we at the Maine Stay Inn decided to convert one of our cottage suites during the summer.  We discovered that we had a need for another king size bed, ideally in a cottage, and Suite #4 won out!  Now cottage suite # 4 is definitely a “romantic” room.  Although the room has seen many renovations since its erection in 1953, it has (at least by all known accounts) held a queen- sized bed and a twin daybed. … Read More
