Valentine’s Weekend is always a special time in town with “February is For Lovers”, but two recent snow storms have made spending this weekend at a Kennebunkport bed and breakfast even more special! Sometimes I worry about sounding like a broken record, but it seems like there are still lots of people who are entirely unaware that Kennebunkport Maine is really a year round destination. Sure, there are some shops and restaurants that close their doors during the winter months, but they are certainly in the minority – and we sure are happy about that! Unlike many other coastal vacation destinations in New England, Kennebunkport doesn’t roll up its streets when the weather turns chilly, which means that visitors to our Kennebunkport bed and breakfast have lots of options for dining, shopping, and exploring, and Valentine’s Weekend is no exception. So tonight, after heading out to a romantic dinner (or a casual meal spent watching the Olympics), visitors headed back to the inn as light snow fell slowly around them. And with plenty of snow on the ground, but very clear roads, the town looks absolutely stunning – perfect for setting the mood for a romantic weekend. And fortunately we’ve got lots of gas fireplaces for couples to snuggle around and loads of rooms and suites with whirlpool tubs to enjoy a long soak. But possibly best of all, when guests wake up to a fresh blanket of snow in the morning, they can have gourmet breakfast delivered to their very own Cottage Suites. How does breakfast in bed sound to top off a romantic Valentine’s Weekend getaway? And tomorrow, you can expect lots of cross country skiing, snow shoeing, and horse drawn sleigh rides through the countryside will certainly be on the agenda. So while it’s been a snowy winter here in New England, and that means a truly beautiful setting for your Kennebunkport bed and breakfast getaway this Valentine’s Weekend!

Now that MLK weekend has passed, it really seems that love is in the air, and Kennebunkport Maine is no exception. This morning’s brief dusting of snow gave way to bright blue skies, and despite the chilly temps, it was one of those days that was just perfect for a romantic Valentine’s Getaway. The sun was shining, the snow glittered on the bare tree branches, and the sunlight sparkled on the ocean waves. Downtown Kennebunkport Maine looked especially charming, and the shops were primed for browsing – and warming up during an outdoor stroll. With Valentine’s Day around the corner, it really is time to plan that romantic getaway for you and your special someone. And snow bunny or not, a Kennebunkport Maine bed and breakfast, like the Maine Stay Inn, is a perfect place for your intimate escape! With gourmet breakfast, yummy afternoon snacks, and hosts dedicated to making sure your stay goes without a hitch in a seaside village known for its world class dining and great shopping opportunities, what more could you need! Consider a room or suite in the main house, a historic Kennebunkport inn, and savor gourmet breakfast served to you in our Victorian dining room. Or, for the option of breakfast in bed, choose one of the Cottage Suites for breakfast delivered to your door. Yes, I mean room service! Having steaming, gourmet breakfast delivered to your door is a little out of the ordinary for a Maine bed and breakfast, but we like to do things that are out of the ordinary. You’ll get the same delicious meal served in dining room, but in the privacy of your suite!
To make your Valentine’s getaway extra-special, consider indulging in a spa treatment at one of the area day spas like Cottage Breeze Day Spa. It’s close enough that you could walk, but after indulging in a relaxing massage or facial, I would sure be anxious to hop back in bed to lounge by the fire as soon as possible. And since they’ve got parking, that’s definitely the way to go. If that’s not your cup of tea or coffee, think about something every girl loves – chocolate. The Romance Package is perfect for snuggling up with your special someone for a romantic (and tasty!) weekend. Enjoy homemade dessert and a fruit and cheese plate delivered to your door OR choose a fruit and cheese plate with sparkling cider and flutes. So this Valentine’s Day, surprise your other half with a romantic getaway to Kennebunkport Maine.

With MLK weekend around the corner, it is starting to hit me just how quickly Valentine’s Day is approaching, and that means it’s time to start planning your romantic bed and breakfast getaway. This year, Valentine’s falls not only on a Friday, but on the Friday of a holiday weekend, which means that you can take full advantage of our Third Night Free special! So ask your neighbors to pick up
your newspaper and stay an extra night for no charge! Now that that’s sorted out, it’s time to work out the details… the room, the dining, the special surprises, etc. And at the Maine Stay Inn we’re all happy to help you iron out those details that make your getaway especially romantic. Because we know that everyone is looking for something a little different in their romantic bed and breakfast getaway, each room is individually designed and there are no two alike. But you can be sure that they’ve all got plush, comfy beds, fine linens, and those little details that really distinguish a bed and breakfast from a hotel. Browsing the website can give you a feel for the each of the rooms an suites, but if you’d prefer some input, we’re always happy to help.
Fortunately, there are lots of restaurants in Kennebunkport Maine that set the mood for a romantic meal, but if you’d like dessert delivered to your room, we can certainly handle that too. Are flowers a must for your special someone? We’ve got great florists in the area that can have your ideal arrangement waiting for you on arrival. But one of the things that I think sets the Maine Stay apart from other romantic bed and breakfasts is the ability to have your breakfast delivered to most of our suites! And honestly, what could be better than breakfast in bed during Valentine’s Weekend? But almost no matter what you’ve got in mind for your romantic bed and breakfast getaway, anyone at the Maine Stay Inn is happy to help make it possible!

‘Twas the night after Christmas and all through Kennebunkport, not a creature was stirring… well, no one but the plow drivers! While there was plenty of the white stuff on the ground on the morning of December 25, it certainly wasn’t the fresh beautiful powder that fell this afternoon. And, boy, was it beautiful! Kennebunkport Maine was quiet as people snuggled inside, spending time with their friends and loved ones. But now that Christmas has come and gone, we at the Maine Stay Inn are gearing up for our New Year’s Eve celebration. It’s one of our most favorite holidays, because it means that we get to spend all evening socializing, playing great games, and watching the ball drop with lots of friends (new and old) over tons of delicious nibbles. And my personal favorite, is waking up (a little bit later, of course!) to our three course brunch! But you’ll just have to wait for a New Year’s Day update, because I’m not spilling any secrets on the menu. We’re sending our wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season from all of us in Kennebunkport Maine.

For families around the globe, December can be a big gift-giving month – and not just for Christmas! Both of my parents celebrate birthdays this month, as well as an anniversary at the end of November, and that’s not so unusual, it seems, because we’ve had lots of couples visiting the Maine Stay Inn
recently celebrating birthdays and anniversaries during their stay. I suppose if you think about it, there are probably just as many people born during December as during any other month (except February with its measly 28 – or 29 – days), so chances are good that someone you know has a birthday between Thanksgiving and New Years. And truthfully, I think these visitors were really onto something– giving the gift of a getaway – because I for one know that it can really be tough to come up with a thoughtful and creative present for not one, but two special days.
But remember, for the next few days you can take advantage of our annual Gift Certificate sale and cash in on some steep savings for your getaway to a Maine Bed and Breakfast. Plus, since you’re giving a gift certificate, that special someone in your life can use if for a winter weekend, a fun summer vacation, or just a night away from the kids. And best of all, there’s no wrapping involved, because our gift certificates come printed and customized just for you!

Kennebunkport Maine is alive with Christmas Prelude festivities, and tonight is no exception! Now that the tree is lit with its signature lobster topper, town looks particularly beautiful. That said, this time of year is always especially cheerful, with Christmas garlands lining the downtown area and historic district, and historic homes (including our Kennebunkport Bed and Breakfast) are sparkling with their Christmas lights.
Today’s activities featured a multitude of craft fairs, shopping extravaganzas, art shows, and musical events. But for the eighth straight year, people have dropped everything to stand by the road in Dock Square for the Crazy Hat Parade. Crowds lined the street (akin to a miniature version of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade) while several hundred enthusiastic folks donned on the most ridiculous costumes and hats you could imagine. Laughter and cheering followed each group, and children were rewarded for their patience and cooperation with candy canes!
The incredible array of activities continue throughout tomorrow, but if you didn’t make it this weekend there is still next weekend for Prelude Round 2! And if you can’t find your schedule of events for Christmas Prelude 2013, you can visit the website for more information. And, of course, we have lots of schedules and reading materials at the Maine Stay Inn. But now it’s time to hit the sack, because there is so much more Christmas Prelude 2013 to enjoy tomorrow in Kennebunkport Maine!

After a wonderful day filled with friends, family, and lots of good food, it’s only natural that thoughts should turn to Black Friday! And the Maine Stay Inn is excited to bring back its holiday gift certificate sale in time for the biggest shopping day of the year. There’s no better way to show a loved one how much they mean to you than by treating them to a getaway to a Kennebunkport Bed and Breakfast!
Despite busy schedules, little kids, and crazy jobs, it really is possible to sneak away for a few days to rekindle that “spark” or just spend quality time together. And planning that special trip is half the fun! Now with our incredible Holiday Gift Certificate promotion, you can enjoy a relaxing escape to our Kennebunkport Bed and Breakfast for even less (bargain-hunters, this is right up your alley)! Plus, the more you spend, the more you save.
Whether you visit for a leisurely weekend of lounging by a fire or soaking in a jacuzzi tub or an active jaunt filled with hiking, biking, cross country skiing or snowshoeing, Kennebunkport has got you covered. So this Black Friday you can take advantage of some amazing deals for your holiday shopping without ever leaving the couch!

It’s hard to believe that I first set foot in Kennebunkport Maine 11 years ago today, during a family Thanksgiving getaway. Much like it is today, the town was aglow with Christmas lights and garlands adorning the Kennebunk River bridge and the lamp posts around town. But there is one striking difference – it was covered in snow! And despite today’s wind and steady rain, temps topped the 60 degree mark. Too bad it wasn’t sunny, right? That would have called for a full on beach day (kidding… kind of). I remember breaking out my boots and going for a stroll along the street of the Kennebunkport Maine historic district, admiring the beautiful Christmas decorations and incredible historic architecture.
Despite being away from home, my family celebrated Thanksgiving together, around a table in one of the many incredible restaurants, feasting until we couldn’t manage another bite. Sounds about right, no matter whether you’re home or away! And in the evening, after most restaurants have finished their Thanksgiving supper service, my family and I gathered around a table with other visitors to Kennebunkport during the holiday. It was a tradition we loved, and one that we’ve continued as innkeepers of a Kennebunkport Maine bed and breakfast. So tomorrow evening, we’re looking forward to joining family and friends (new and old) for some delicious light fare around our dining room table. A Kennebunkport Maine Thanksgiving quickly became our family tradition, and we look forward sharing this special day with so many others – Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Our Kennebunkport bed and breakfast is excited to debut a very special getaway offer during the upcoming holiday season. And since we know that this time of year can bring lots of stress and family or social obligations, everyone deserves a chance for a bit of rest and relaxation. So to make the a rejuvenating getaway possible, you can visit the Maine Stay Inn any Sunday through Thursday nights (Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve not included) for two nights in a room or suite with a fireplace, and you’ll get the rock bottom rate of just $129 per night! A deal like that has to be too good to be true, right? Not a chance! In fact, the only catch is that we pick the room based on availability. You’ll still get the free high speed WiFi, gourmet breakfasts, unlimited tea and coffee, and even our freshly baked cookies each afternoon, so you really can get the best of all worlds – a luxurious getaway and a stellar deal that will leave lots of green for you to get all of your holiday shopping done! And with Christmas Prelude coming soon, Kennebunkport is looking its finest, with lights and holiday decor all over town – and our Kennebunkport bed and breakfast is no exception. Plus, since some windy weather has meant that most of the leaves have fallen, folks all over the area have taken the opportunity to get their Christmas lights up early. That means that the late fall lull that sometimes happens after the autumn foliage fades is filled with twinkling lights high and low. So while we aren’t breaking out the Christmas tunes just yet, the holiday spirit sure is filling all of us at the Maine Stay. This year as you spread holiday cheer to others, don’t leave yourself out, and take advantage of our $129 Midweek Special to our Kennebunkport bed and breakfast!
