A Modern Cottage Transformation

Every winter, the Maine Stay Inn undergoes a series of renovations, transforming spaces across the property, and none have been as dramatic as that of Cottage Suite 11, from a classic New England cottage feel to a sleek, modern suite.  And while modern design can sometimes feel stark and cold, we’re extremely proud of the warmth and comfort emanating from the room.  Plus, the new wall-mounted electric fireplace sets the mood in every season, with the

option to enjoy the ambience without producing any heat!

The idea for this transformation began with the simple concept of wanting a room with “a little bit of teal,” and it expanded from there.  This charming room with two double beds has been replaced by a sleek leather king size bed with  an ultra plush pillow top mattress, and a microsuede sofa, leather chair and ottoman have taken the place of wicker arm chairs.  But families and friends traveling together, don’t despair, there’s still room for four, because the American Leather Comfort Sleeper offers a bar-less sleeping surface with Tempurpedic mattress.  And

while the vibe has entirely changed, you can still enjoy one of the signature amenities of our Maine bed and breakfast – a gourmet morning meal delivered to right do your door (if you want it, that is!).

And while many B&Bs can get a “cutesy” wrap, we know that with a renovation like this one, a modern Maine bed and breakfast is possible.  But if modern design isn’t your thing, don’t worry – we firmly believe in offering a variety of styles so that every person can find a space that is perfect for them and their getaway, so you will still find updated Victorian, casual cottage, soft contemporary, and transitional looks in rooms and suites across the property.  Most importantly, though, we want to know what you think about this new look, so let us know!
