It’s that time of year again – time to plan your Maine summer vacation! Most people can’t just spontaneously jaunt off for a couple of days along the coast, so taking that fun trip means planning. Now, that’s not my favorite thing, especially because time is always at a premium. But since you’ve already decided to hit coastal Maine for your vay-cay, I’ve put together a few questions to help guide your efforts.
- When? July and August are prime time in Kennebunkport Maine, but if you’re looking for some quality time in the surf,
consider early September, which is known for peak water temps. If quiet, but still toasty, time on the sand, June is also a great time for a visit.
- Midweek or weekend? Midweek visits tend to feel a little more laid back than weekend ones, but time away from work can be harder to snag than a quick weekend escape.
- How long? Your to-do list keeps growing and the important people in your life are all vying for your attentions, but you deserve some time to just rest, relax, and recharge. After you check off all the must-dos on your list (think shopping, beach time, sightseeing, etc.), that doesn’t leave much time for R&R, so no matter how long your Maine Summer Vacation, add a day or two – you won’t regret it!
- Who’s comin’? Is this going to be a family vacation or mini-honeymoon part two? And we know from experience, combining the two doesn’t work too well for anyone, so it’s definitely best to decide early. And if you’re going to live the tykes at home, work on the baby sitting situation early so that tiny Tommy and Tina don’t end up joining in the cuddle sessions during your romantic getaway! So when you give our Kennebunkport Bed and Breakfast a call, let us know what kind of mood you’re going for and we’ll be happy to help!
