this vibrant, yet quaint, seaside village throughout the year (think hiking, biking, beach walks, and carriage rides), but in case you need some inspiration for your getaway, here is a peek at some of the awesome activities coming up in the area:

  • Friday marks the beginning of the 8th annual OgunquitFest.  Spend a day or just a few hours just south of our Kennebunkport Bed and Breakfast enjoying classic fall festival activities with a twist.  Yes, you’ll get your fill of a scarecrow contest, haunted house, and pumpkin decorating, but you can also oogle at a classic car show and the unique Bridge to Beach Bed Race!
  • Looking to stay a little closer to “home”?  Downtown Kennebunk’s Harvest Fest 2011 offers a 5k Road Race, Scavenger hunt, pumpkin painting, hay rides, and live music on the new (and finally about to open!) bridge spanning the Mousam River. Plus, you’ll get the opportunity to witness the ribbon cutting on the new bridge, which will now improve traffic flow up and down Route 1 – less traffic is always great when enjoying your vacation!
  • You can even tap your inner artist with a Relief Printing Workshop at River Tree Arts.  Offered from 10 AM to 2 PM, you can enjoy breakfast at our Kennebunkport Bed and Breakfast and still sneak in an afternoon nap or bike ride!  You’ll be introduced to relief media in printmaking with single and multiple block woodcutting.
  • Missing Fido?  Check out the Canine Fashion Show at the Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport Maine.  Even pet-less folks will be sure to get their share of laughs at this event, and best of all, it is a fundraiser for the Animal Welfare Society!
If none of these events strike your fancy, check out some of the dozens of other events in the area featured in the Tourist News or Seacoast Online.  Plus, Kennebunkport Maine is so spectacular at this time of year, there’s no reason to not just relax and do nothing, because you’ll still be enjoying the incredible scenery!
