Kennebunkport Maine Sports Bars for Superbowl Sunday

Even though the Patriots aren’t in tomorrow’s big game, the broadcast tops my “must-see” list, and there’s no better place (aside from the stadium, perhaps) to watch than one of the great pubs around Kennebunkport Maine and our bed and breakfast.  If you’re at all like me and the commercials are just as important as the ball game, the best place for viewing is right on the property of our Kennebunkport inn. Snuggle in bed and watch the game in comfort (and quiet)!  Plus, you’ll have control over the remote, meaning an HGTV interlude won’t earn you eternal ridicule (well, not by me at least!).  But if a big crowd, bowls of chili, and pints of beer are more your style, head over to Federal Jack’s Brew Pub, the home of Kennebunkport Brewing and Shipyard Ale.  Watch them play on a plethora of big screen TVs, while sipping on one of seven beers brewed on site.  Nachos, wings, and chili – essentials for any football party – are staples on the menu. Want to walk?  Try Alisson’s Restaurant, with a cozy bar area but ample televisions of Superbowl proportions.  Located in the heart of Kennebunkport Maine and just a 3 minute walk from your Kennebunkport bed and breakfast, it is smaller and quieter than Fed’s, but sure to be hoppin’.

More concerned about noshing while watching?  Test out Pier 77‘s The Ramp, with gourmet pub fare and a charming atmosphere.  The TVs might be on the small side, but its waterfront setting and great food more than compensate. Feile, an Irish Pub on Route 1 in Wells, sits just over the Kennebunkport border, less than a 10 minute car ride from the inn.  With four big screens in the tavern, there’s no bad seat in the house – and no bad thing on the menu!  Choose pub fare or a traditional Irish feast, and you’re sure to leave full, even if

your team falls short.

Run of the Mill in Saco is a bit further from your Kennebunkport bed and breakfast, but the crowd will likely be larger – just like their portions.  Sebago Brewing in Kennebunk offers viewers a similar atmosphere and menu selection.  Though not open on Sundays, the Kennebunk Inn has an intimate bar area that’s great for watching a game – plus you can get a great bowl of gluten-free haddock chowder.  Yum!

So when planning a weekend getaway next winter, consider Kennebunkport Maine on Superbowl weekend – for a great game, great food, and great service.
