Gluten-Free Bed and Breakfast Weekend

We at the Maine Stay Inn knock ourselves out to accommodate the dietary needs of our guests and take great care when dealing with food allergies, particularly those with gluten intolerance. Innkeepers, Judi and Walter, have been dealing with gluten-free eating for nearly a decade, as their daughter, Johanna, has Celiac’s Disease.  Now that she has joined the staff, gluten-free cooking is commonplace at the Maine Stay.  But for the first time, we will be hosting an entirely gluten-free weekend.  November 6 and 7, 2009 will feature gourmet gluten-free breakfasts (yes, nothing will be off-limits for gluten-free guests!), as well as afternoon tea and sweets!  We’ll even make educated recommendations for safe dinner options in town, or you can choose to enjoy old-fashioned lobster dinner at the Maine Stay. On this trip, we’ll take all your worries away, so you can have a truly restful visit.  Not to worry, gluten eaters are welcome too.

Hi – I came across an article in the August 2009 LHJ and looked up your Inn on the web. I just want to comment that I think it’s great that you offer GF choices for those of us with Celiac Disease… I really had no plans to visit the East Coast at this time, but now you never know… I may have to put Kennebunkport on my list of places to visit! Thanks!

We’d love to have you – on our gluten-free weekend or any other time! It is a treat for us to have gluten-free guests, because we get to “spoil” them with foods they wouldn’t ordinarily get to enjoy. All of us at the Maine Stay get great pleasure out of giving our guests the best experience possible, and that means feeding ALL of them well. We promise to take good care of you!

Just wondering if you will be offering a gluten free weekend sometime again this year? I am very interested in planning a few days travel agenda to celebrate a 30 year wedding anniversary – and a this would be something my husband and I would really enjoy.

I am sure we will, but no date has been set yet. Keep in mind, though, that we are very experienced at gluten-free meal preparation, so we would be happy to accommodate you at any time of the year. Just make sure to tell us when booking your reservation! And congratulations on your anniversary – what an accomplishment!

Hi, I am trying to arrange a a Gluten free getaway for someone for Valentines Day. I really hope you can help. We currently reside in New York city and would not mind going to Maine for a road trip for a romantic weekend getaway.

    Sincerely,

    Denise Matos

    Hello!
I am a young female with celiac disease currently living in Chicago, IL. It is my dream to one day own a bed & breakfast specializing in gluten-free cooking. I cook and bake nearly every day and love to experiment with new and healthy foods. However, I want to work with a place that is already established so that I can gain experience and so that I may help a certain location expand on their celiac-friendly business. This may be a long shot, but would you be interested in an intern of sorts or would you know of anybody who would be?
